Computer Science at MWMA
Authentic Opportunities
We will offer high-quality, authentic computer science learning opportunities across our curriculum. Students will use computer science as they explore many areas of their standard curriculum. This may look like coding a robot to create shapes in geometry, building a web-page in html to share their research on cultural topics, or programming with Python to generate their own math problems.
We have developmentally appropriate coding software designed for students, with engaging and straightforward lessons for teachers.
Our business partnerships will mentor with students and teachers as we integrate computer science into our curriculum. They will show students how useful computer science skills can be no matter their profession.
Increasing Access and Exposure
We are building up access for all students by ensuring every student is given experiences with a robust and varied computer science curriculum, exposure to diverse professionals in many fields, and engaging opportunities for creativity and problem solving through computer science.
Community Partnerships
We’re looking for a few good partners!
We’re currently seeking partnerships within the computing industry to assist by offering classroom presentations, teaching a workshop at our Code Night events, offering site-tours to student groups, and in building relationships with in-person or virtual student mentorships. If you are passionate about promoting computer science for the next generation, contact us.
