Hello, my name is Alexa Ashment. I recently graduated from Utah State University with a degree in Elementary Education and have been working as a paraprofessional for the last seven years. I’ve had the privilege of working and conducting my student teaching at MWMA, and this will be my third year here! I’ve learned so much over the years, and I’m excited to integrate that knowledge and experience into my classroom.
I am passionate about teaching and helping children learn and grow academically, socially, and emotionally. I believe that students have just as much to teach me as I have to teach them. I strive for my classroom to be a safe space for all, where mistakes are part of the learning process, and each student feels that they play an essential role in our classroom community. I strongly believe in the power of hands-on learning, collaboration, and problem-solving to further knowledge while increasing confidence and a love of life-long learning!
In my free time, I love spending time with family and friends and getting outdoors, whether hiking, mountain biking, skiing, or doing other activities. I also love reading, painting, doing craft projects, and caring for my plants.
