Hi! My name is Saskia Opperman and I am so excited to be a part of this Montessori community.
I am originally from South Africa and during the years 2011-2016 I studied Fine Art and English Literature at the University of Cape Town. My teaching passions to this day revolve around creativity and language. Nothing makes me happier than sharing a love of books with my students.
In 2017 I travelled to South Korea to be a teacher for the very first time, I specialized in ESL (English as a Second Language) and my classrooms were filled with play and learning. Over the years I've taught in public and private schools in both South Korea and Vietnam and I have a lot of experience with children who have varied backgrounds, abilities and age.
In 2022 I left the nomadic teaching lifestyle and settled down here in Utah! I have adored my time abroad and I have learned so much about the world, the nature of students and myself as a teacher.
In my free time I love to read, create art, journal, hike in the many beautiful national parks in Utah and travel.
Serving K-9 students as a tuition-free, public charter school based on the globally-established Montessori philosophy of education.
