I am passionate about the philosophies of Maria Montessori, and how they can transform the modern classroom. Students taught in this method become self-directed, life-long learners uniquely positioned for success in later careers, in their communities, and in life. My passion for teaching has led me from teaching in Montessori classrooms of inner-city Cincinnati, Ohio, to Lehi, and now Mountain West Montessori Academy.
I have four young learners at home ranging in age from preschool to upper elementary. I strive to expose them to the same spirit of exploration and wonder about the natural world that I cultivate in my classroom. Although I was born in the beautiful forests of southwest Ohio, I have learned to let my desert flower bloom in the Rocky Mountains of Utah. I especially enjoying hiking, camping, gardening and basically anything that gets me outdoors.
