Hi! My name is Rebecca Gear and I am a lower elementary teacher here at MWMA. As a teacher, I find myself wanting to connect with every single child I encounter. I think of my classroom as the child’s home away from home and I want them to always feel safe.
I am originally from Salem, Massachusetts and in 2018 I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education at a private institution in Boston. I found myself in child centered careers since 2015 in several different environments, all equally rewarding. I was a behavioral therapist for children with Autism, a camp counselor, a preschool teacher, and an educational assistant. I feel fortunate that I have a multitude of diverse experiences that I can bring to my very own classroom. I moved to Utah in 2020 and was an educational assistant in lower elementary. I instantly felt at home here at MWMA.
When I am not at school, you can find me rock climbing, boxing, or paddle boarding. On every adventure, it’s a safe bet that my dog, Rory, will be there. Besides my passion for teaching, I am an avid traveler. I have traveled to almost all of the 50 states and several countries. My favorite place in the world is Switzerland. I love international travel because I feel like it shapes my profession and gives me new perspectives that I hope to share with children.
