Hi there! My name is Jeremy Wright. I am thrilled to be a part of the Mountain West Montessori community. I enjoy being a role model to the kids and sharing with them valuable life experience. I would consider myself the “common-sense” teacher as I teach College & Career Awareness, Family & Consumer Sciences and Financial Literacy.
I have an interesting and diverse skill set that enables me to be highly relatable to a multitude of individuals. After high school I attended Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in Las Vegas, Nevada. I worked for many years in haute cuisine refining my craft and committing myself to my culinary profession.
In 2014 I met my beautiful wife Kathryn while working at Log Haven restaurant, here in Salt Lake City. My wife had recently graduated from Weber State University with her post-graduate degree in English Education and it was the summer before she started her first year as a teacher. Within a very short amount of time we fell in love and decided to get married in 2016. We now have a beautiful baby boy named Greyson who is the absolute light of my world.
My wife and I quickly realized that the arduous hours involved with a restaurant career wasn’t conducive to our family life. At the ripe age of 32, I decided to make a career change and went back to school to get my bachelor’s degree in Business Management in Technology from Western Governors University. I ventured into the business realm for several years before I decided that I wanted something more fulfilling in my life. With all of the amazing (and terrifying) stories that both my mother and my wife have told me about being educators, I decided that teaching youth would satisfy my need for fulfillment in serving my community while also fitting perfectly with my wife’s schedule to spend more time with family.
I am both honored and grateful for the opportunity to teach at MWMA. It truly is a blessing to have a career filled with education and enrichment.
