Hello, my name is Tracy Joost. I am so grateful to be a part of Mountain West Montessori School. I have thoroughly enjoyed the Montessori model of teaching. I especially love the 3 grades in one class and the opportunities for growth through mentoring that happens in the classrooms. I love the hands-on materials and I have witnessed the magical learning that happens through play with the materials.
My first degree was from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Clothing and Textiles. I spent many years working in the costume industry in Southern California. When life took our family to Arizona, I decided to try my hand at teaching. I was hired to teach a small special education class and fell in love with the kiddos and the job very quickly. I then worked through a Post Baccalaureate program to obtain my special education certification.
I am a mother of 4 adult children and a grandmother to 3 beautiful grandchildren. Soon I will also be grandmother of foster children as one of my daughters is working towards fostering children. I love to create and decorate. I love to sew and quilt. I love living life with children around me.
