My name is Sniazhana, and I am originally from Belarus. I have 14 years of teaching experience, including nine years at Grodno State University, where I taught Slavic languages. I have also worked as a middle and high school teacher, teaching Russian in a DLI program for grades 6–9 as well as Social Studies. I hold a PhD in Linguistics and a Professional Utah Educator License in Secondary Education with a Composite Social Studies Endorsement.
I am passionate about teaching languages, history, and geography. I love helping students understand the world around them and see how history and geography shape the world we live in today. I speak four languages and can understand several more, which has given me a deep appreciation for languages and cultures.
I have been living in Utah since 2014, and I have completely fallen in love with its incredible nature and outdoor opportunities. Thanks to Utah, I have become a true outdoor enthusiast! I love hiking Utah's beautiful mountains and visiting national parks, skiing, snowshoeing, reading, enjoying the theater, opera and symphony.
I am very glad to be part of the Montessori Mountain West Academy community. I look forward to sharing my passion for history, geography, languages, and culture with my students and making a positive difference in the way they see and understand the world.
