I am excited to join Mountain West Montessori Academy as the Middle School Health and P.E. teacher. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education Teaching and Health Education from the University of Utah and have spent more than 14 years helping students develop healthy habits, confidence, leadership skills, and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity and wellness.
In addition to my classroom experience, I have served as a coach, Athletic Director, and Associate Director of the Utah Charter & Small School Athletic League. Before beginning my career in education, I proudly served in the United States Army. Those experiences reinforced the values of teamwork, perseverance, discipline, and service that I strive to model every day.
I believe physical education is about more than fitness—it is an opportunity for students to build character, resilience, and positive relationships while discovering activities they can enjoy for a lifetime. Outside of school, I enjoy coaching sports, hiking, camping, spending time outdoors, and being with my kids. I look forward to becoming part of the Mountain West Montessori community and supporting students as they grow into healthy, confident, and capable individuals.
