Steve Barnes resides in South Jordan with his wife and three young children. He studied Mass Communication at the University of Utah and studied abroad through the BYU Near Eastern Studies program. While at the University of Utah, he was selected from a pool of over 2,000 applicants to work as an intern in the White House Communication Department in Washington, D.C. Steve is passionate about education and worked for several years as a substitute teacher for the Granite School District and taught part-time for the LDS Church Educational System. He currently serves as Vice President of the Board of the Mountain West Montessori Academy. After graduating from the University of Utah in 2000, Steve worked in the financial industry and was a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase Bank before transitioning to a career in financial software sales. He is dedicated to his community and enjoys serving on the South Jordan City Council.
